the birds are louder now
we say
but no
(that’s so obverse of us)

it’s our ears
are waking up
are stretching tiny bones are pecking
stretching downy wet
are stretching wings and pecking through
the eggshells of before 

to lift themselves
thank god
as naked
dizzy stunned
and blinking yeses
fully nested here and fully
now’d
